Hello, and congratulations on the upcoming arrival of the newest member of your family! My name is Sabbath Davies, and I am a Birth Doula, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and Childbirth Educator serving Des Moines, IA and surrounding areas.
Having experienced the joy of childbirth firsthand, I know what a life altering experience that can be for a woman. During my own childbirth I was fortunate enough to have not one, but two wonderful doulas present. Their gentle massage and soft words guided me through my experience, and inspired me to seek out a way to provide the same experience to others. After attending training I began my own work to provide women with that same compassion and love through their own birthing experiences.
My goal is to facilitate the type of birthing experience that you desire by helping you understand your options, offering alternative ideas for you to consider, and being a compassionate shoulder when things change or support is needed. A birth involves a family; that means that I work with the partner and family as well as the the laboring mother so that we can ensure that her needs are met. I believe that every family is unique with different perceptions of an ideal birthing experience. As a doula, I am there to serve the family in whatever way they see fit.
